Coventry Dobes fully supports all breed rescue and we do our best to help those we can, Dobes and non-Dobes! We are always fostering rescues in our home, gaining the same social experience that we provide to our puppies, and providing those who came from a not so perfect living situation the chance to heal and be evaluated so that they can find their ideal forever home. Although we work closely with and support several rescue organizations some of what we do is through private contacts, owner surrenders or abandonments, and pulling through our contacts in the South where the shelters are overfilled with hopefuls who deserve a second chance to live . All potential adopters of one of our rescues are required to answer our rescue adoption application/ questionnaire, and upon approval sign an adoption contract as part of our adoption process.
Many of the rescues who come to us are in need of medical care before they can be placed in a forever home. These costs are met through donations, fundraising, and the generosity of some of our friends in the rescue community as well as a nominal adoption donation fee. If you are not looking to adopt but would still like to make a donation to help ongoing rescue efforts, we support and have received help from our friends at BAAC, and donations can be made at http://www.bikersagainstanimalcruelty.org/donate.html
If you would like to meet and have room for any of our rescues in your home and heart, please call Karin @ 860-416-6083, or email covendobes@yahoo.com for an application and more information.
Angel was rescued by us from a high kill shelter in SC just in time to give birth to her 10 beautiful babies on Valentine's day 2010. After all of her pups were weaned and placed, Angel was treated for heartworm disease with help from our friends at BAAC, and has since found true love and happiness on a farm in VT.
All of Angel's babies have found forever homes of their own.

May 2009:Gizmo was surrendered at the veterinary hospital with a severely broken leg. He was a 19 week old puppy who had been chained outside while his owners were at work. They were unable to afford the treatment he desperately needed, and his injury was allowed to remain untreated until it became infected to the point that the leg needed to be removed. We took him in and through the generosity of BAAC who funded his surgery, he received a second chance at happiness in his forever home .
